Two comedians walk into a real estate agency…
So, how did a couple of professional comedians, end up with their own real estate companies? Fahey & Jodie met each other in the deep dark recesses of St. Kilda’s iconic Espy Hotel - the Gershwin Room to be exact - one damp afternoon, back before iPhones were a thing. Stand up comedy had lured them there, and there they stayed. Each went on to have successful careers in commercial radio, live performance, tv & film writing, production and performance both in Australia and overseas. Fahey living & working in USA., Jodie, in Canada. Both have won awards for various productions including Fahey’s (inaugural) Melbourne International Comedy Festival award for the Most Outstanding Comedy Show at the festival and the inaugural Piece Of Wood Award (the Comedian’s Comedian Award) also for MICF .
Jodie’s father, Crawford was a real estate agent, so it had always been in her blood. Fahey was and will always be obsessed with real estate, purchasing her first property - a grubby warehouse in Fitzroy - back in the 90’s (when she was 5!… shaddap). They met during their comedy lives but bonded over their love of bricks and mortar. Cut to now. Life is funny, and so is business. After surviving the cut-throat world of entertainment, the cut and thrust of real estate is a doddle!
Friends for more than 20 years, they share office space and are each other’s biggest supporters. You’ll find JJ over at her her own company, sheSELLS Real Estate, offering traditional residential and commercial property sales and leasing.
Fahey continues with buyer and vendor advocacy and the new Y(our) H(ome) Property Management team within the Younger Hill group.
